Letter from the Board of Directors

March 2008

Dear IAI Members and Friends,

It is with great pleasure that I announce exciting news about a new stage in the life of the Information Architecture Institute. Yesterday, the IAI Board of Directors appointed the Institute's first Executive Director, Glenn Harvey.

Glenn brings to IAI over twenty five years of experience in managing associations and helping Boards to grow multi-million dollar global, technical and educational associations. Glenn shares our unique interest in the Web, from his long-standing and pioneering efforts to help associations make the transition from bricks and mortar, to "dot orgs" (see: is a dot org and ceramics dot org). He expresses excitement at the opportunity to work with a profession that is so critical to the future of E-commerce and sees IAI as having almost unlimited growth potential. Glenn's experience is rich in all aspects of association management; especially publications, standards, conference development, training, and marketing of the profession that comprises the organization.

IAI Board Members unanimously agreed that our new executive director can help us to achieve both the near-term goals we have shared with you and the grand vision that we all hold for IAI. We will share his IAI contact information, when Glenn officially starts in March and he is looking forward to meeting many Members at the IA Summit in April. If you can't wait to start giving him suggestions and advice, he invites input at his personal email address - glennharvey@charter.net.

Sincerely,

Eric Reiss
President, IAI Board of Directors
