What’s in a minute?
October 7th, 2009Every week, Jonell, Andrea, Will, Russ, Andrew, Christian and I (AKA, the current board of directors for the IA Institute) meet to discuss the activities and projects which the Institute’s staff and volunteers are working on and make decisions that help drive and develop services for our membership and support our extended community.
As the new secretary elected for this term, I have the responsibility (by law!) to keep minutes of the meetings where the board of directors make decisions (I’m not kidding about the law thing, it’s in our bylaws. Keeping minutes is a requirement for us to maintain our 501 (c)(6) non-profit status).
Since simply fulfilling a legal requirement is not argument enough to convince me to design a feature, I figured we can also meet a recurring member request, which is to keep up to date on what is going on with the Institute. Since I am taking the minutes, it is only natural that I share that with you to fulfill that goal.
I will use this space to keep you updated on main decisions made and key topics being discussed. It really should take you no more than a minute to catch up on what’s going on with the IA Institute. Pun intended.
PS: I encourage you to subscribe to the RSS so you don’t have to flex a muscle for this. You can also follow the IA Institute on Twitter (I’ll tweet after posting new minutes).
