Administrative Issues to Discuss – Noreen and Tim
* World Pulse – Is seeking an IA volunteer. Bev has a relationship with its founder, Jensine. Noreen and Bev to attend conference with Jensine and explore whether we could send her a IAI team to cover the volunteer role. May be other opportunities like this.
* Foundation Center – planning a meeting with FC director to see how we can partner, resources that can help IAI
* One Sheet for IAI development – We need a clear, concise description of IA Institute to explain what we do to send to prospective partners and funders. Laura volunteered to work on it along with the Annual Report. Chris wants to help edit the AR as well.
* 2011 Salary survey – Will be released before February.
* Memberclicks sent a note that they are increasing the monthly cost by a few dollars.
World IA Day – Sponsors and Podcast interview with Dan, Abby, and Jessica.
* Admin – Dan focusing on Ann Arbor. Programs are coming together and many sites are starting to offer registration. Jessica offering support/guidance to sites that are falling behind.
* Sponsors – O’Reilly will sponsor at the Polar Bear level, Rosenfeld at Sun Bear. Both are in-kind donations. We have several additional inquiries at the Sun Bear level.
* Contest – Peter Morville launched the IA Stories contest with prizes from Rosenfeld Media and Semantic Studios.
* Website – Joe added date and will add “World IA Day” text to each location site. Sponsor logos should also go up soon.
* Board Attendance – Andrea Resmini will be in South Africa.
Journal of IA
* Seeking practitioners for article.
* Important to keep publishing.
* Many different indexes are starting to consider including us on their lists.
* 15-20 papers to review per month, select 8 for publishing. It’s a lot of work.
IA Summit – AGM. Podcasting. Other details?
* Briefly discussed Jeff Parks’ proposal to cover podcasts for IA Summit. (UIE did last year and may again this year.)
* Dan asks for a count of how many directors are attending.
* Start thinking about how IAI can use the Flex room.
* IAI Members Meeting – would like it to be similar to last year, external party room with refreshments.
* Healthcare UX conference is in Boston the same week as IA Summit, noted.
Website update – Path forward
* Dorian created a tool for meaningful text anaysis.
* Finishing today and will turn out onto IAI site.
