IA Institute Board of Directors Conference Call
January 23, 2012

IA Summit Planning
* The IA Institute Annual Members Meeting will be held concurrently with the IA Summit on Friday, March 23rd in New Orleans.
* Exact time and location to be determined based on venue availability.
* Dan Klyn will purchase 20 discounted passes for the Summit to be distributed to Board members, WIAD volunteers and staff. Laura had already registered and will be reimbursed by IAI.
Actions:
* Noreen and Bev are reaching out to local contacts to price out venues.
* Dan to reimburse Laura for the discounted IAS ticket.
World IA Day Planning
* Noreen summarized sponsor status to date, including a request by Adobe to present a product demo at several locations.
* Jessica released WIAD newsletter earlier today announcing new locations, Ghent, Belgium and Bogota, Colombia, and opening of CafePress swag shop.
* Swag and flyers to be distributed to each location.
Actions:
* Dan will send IAI flyers to World IA Day sites.
* Noreen to follow up with Adobe.
Salary Survey
* Noreen is close to releasing the 2011 Salary Survey.
* Various questions were discussed that may warrant quotes and anecdotes from hiring managers.
Action:
* Noreen will post a request for stories to UX-management list.
Annual Report
* Dan is finalizing the financial statements and obtaining 1099s.
* Noreen will begin draft when the salary survey is complete.
Grants
* The IA progress grant program changes were discussed. It was decided that Jason Hobbs will be contacted after World IA Day to finalize the program and move forward with promotion for 2012, since he is currently busy with WIAD planning.
* In the meantime, we will place a feature on Emily Rinck’s internship grant for the summer of 2011 in place of the 2011 progress grant report.
Action:
* Noreen will edit the grants website.

* Dorian will have much to discuss next time regarding the website.
