iainstitute-newsletter Outage

December 01, 2009 12:04 AM

We regret to report that our iainstitute-newsletter Mailiman list has been compromised by spammers and had to be deleted. The iai-newsletter list has not been affected. The affected list was created as an extension to our original list, which was reaching capacity. We have been increasingly dissatisfied with Mailman as a platform for the newsletter and have been planning to launch a new platform for newsletters with the next issue, so the timing of this incident won't affect the upcoming newsletter. However, we understand that a number of people received unwanted spam as a result and apologize for that.

If you subscribe to iai-newsletter, we will move your email address to the new platform so you will continue to receive emails uninterrupted. For the 200 or so people on the iainstitute-newsletter list, unfortunately, we have lost the subscriber list so you will need to resubscribe to the new platform. We will send a notification to the iai-members list and to the News blog as to how to sign up for the updated newsletter shortly.

We extend our apologies to all affected subscribers for the inconvenience this has caused, but look forward to an improved newsletter experience with the next issue.
