Mentor Matching

Step 1: Join the IAI

Mentor matching is one of the benefits of membership in the Information Architecture Institute. Members can access a list of potential mentors from all over the world.

Step 2: Search for a Mentor

To find a mentor, log in and visit the Mentor Center. Look at the list of IAI members who are interested in being mentors. Don’t worry about geographic proximity; mentorships can work from anywhere!

Step 3: Introduce Yourself

It’s up to you to contact the person you’d like to work with. Remember, he or she has expressed interest in mentoring someone like you. We’ve got some advice on the best way to approach your potential mentor.

Step 4: Pay It Forward

Even if you’re just starting out in the Information Architecture field, you have valuable skills and experience. We encourage you to continue the mentorship cycle by becoming a mentor, yourself.
