IA Conference Scholarship Program

You asked, we answered!

The 2019 Scholarship Application is now open.

The IA Conference wants to make the Information Architecture Summit more accessible to people of diverse backgrounds. The IA Conference Scholarship Program is actively recruiting and providing scholarships to students from backgrounds underrepresented at the IA Conference to assist them with attending the IA Conference and leadership positions within the IA community.

About the Program

IA Conference Scholars share in the prestige and opportunities that become available when they are selected. Each scholar will attend the IA Conference for 5 days and 4 nights at the conference hotel. They will also take part in a special pre-conference introductory workshop and welcome to the conference. Besides financial support, recipients will have access to peer mentoring and a large alumni network. Critical for long-term impact, the program offers continuing education and professional development opportunities foundational to obtaining leadership positions within the profession.

The Scholarship Program has three primary purposes:

  • To nurture and sustain the professional development of the scholars,
  • To establish a network of scholars over time who become mentors to other promising newcomers, and
  • To support the information architecture and user experience design communities.
