Mike Wilkey

It is with great sadness that the IA Institute mourns the passing of Institute and UX community member Mike Wilkey, who lost his battle with cancer this past Monday, August 16, 2010.

Mike was a UX designer at Fallon Community Health Plan in Worcester, MA, and was working to improve the experience of plan members. But his first and foremost allegiance was to his family. Mike leaves behind a wife, Michelle, and three children.

In an outpouring of hope and community action, several UX community members formed F*ck Cancer, a donation website for the Wilkeys at http://helpmike.uxsters.com/, to help Mike and his family cope with mounting bills during his treatment. While the original fundraising goal has been met, the family's needs continue to be great, and they are requesting continued support via the website. Any donation is appreciated.

The IA Institute recognizes and is very proud of the support that our community has shown for one of its own. Thanks to all who have participated.
